I can make a long list about the quantifiable effect Kitarr has made in my life. But the most valuable thing I learned from Kitarr is to live genuinely and kindly. I try to pick up trash on the road when I see one. I smile at people when I go on a jog. I hug my friends and tell them how much I love them. I started being a vegetarian. I look at my mum and see nothing but gratitude. I don’t know how to quantify these changes but they are real to me. I am more than certain I wouldn’t learn about them if it’s not through the interaction I had with Kitarr. Or more accurately, I wouldn’t think they are worth learning and practicing. The cherry on top of this is the easiness for anyone to be involved. I can just ask my friends to join in and experience it for themselves. The barrier of change is so low that it only requires conversation. That’s the true beauty of it.

Kitarr presented themselves authentically since the beginning with passion and motivation for change. Change is tough in nature, but the constant conversations about change neutralize the chaos. They’ve taught me that we aren’t alone in fighting battles that always seem hard to understand or handle, and change can take place.

Kitarr has helped me a lot in terms of how to change my lifestyle. I want to be more environmentally conscious but I don’t know where to start. But seeing all the information you guys give, i.e., where to buy bulk items, how to reuse stuff etc., I slowly began to change. I started off with carrying my own bag to do groceries, and bring containers to tapau. Stuff like that. And the community is very inclusive. Every time I join the Zoom discussion, I feel heard and helped me to practice listening to others. 😊✨

I think Kitarr has been keeping me on my toes in terms of being aware of how my actions will affect the environment. For instance, I started to become more conscious when it comes to recycling used items (plastic containers, bottles, food boxes, etc.), and I also started to actively remind myself to bring my own containers for takeaways, whether it’s for food or beverages. And I think because of how I acted at home, my parents are also changing to become more environmentally conscious, and conversations around sustainability are also slowly appearing on the dinner table. Kitarr has not only impacted the individuals in their community, but also the families and communities of these individuals!

You encouraged me to keep learning about sustainability with your posts as a reminder even when I easily feel helpless sometimes with this whole pandemic going on and all things seems to be on halt. Lots of love ❤️

I’m grateful that Kitarr has provided me with a lot of information on the environment and a lot of suggestions on how we can play our part in reducing our carbon footprint.
It is very hard to make choices that benefit the environment all the time, and though theoretically there are a lot of things we can do, I’m guilty of having the tendency to put myself before the environment out of convenience when I am busy. It takes knowledge, practice, time and a good mentality to make this a way of living, a habit and I feel like the consistency of Instagram posts from Kitarr has always played a part as reminders to never give up when I fall off the sustainability bandwagon. I also loved how Kitarr advocated the importance of mental health on social media as it is very heartwarming to come across especially when everyone is so physically distant amidst this pandemic. Thank you for your effort in making this world a better place! ❤️
